Trusted Voices

Trade Pathways Africa is honored to receive insights and endorsements from leaders, professionals, and institutions
who share our commitment to strengthening African trade.

”Uche Austen has done what AfCFTA policy alone cannot: she has translated continental trade ambition into a language African SMEs can act on. By identifying belief and information as the twin barriers to export, and providing the Export Readiness Snapshot as a practical tool, this book gives first-time exporters the map they’ve been missing. It is essential reading for any institution serious about moving African trade from conference rooms to containers. We recommend it as required curriculum for all African SME Centers.”⭐️ Hon. Meet the Founder

Trade Pathways Africa was built from a simple observation: African SMEs rarely fail to export because they lack quality products. They fail because the journey from product to market is fragmented, confusing, and often unsupported. That understanding has been shaped through practical export preparation work with Nigerian SMEs, market research, product compliance assessments, and the realities of implementing AfCFTA - not from theory alone.

I’m Uche Austen, a Certified AfCFTA Trade Advisor, trained through the University of Nairobi, a certified facilitator on the AfCFTA Non-Tariff Barrier Reporting Mechanism, and a graduate of the International Trade Centre (ITC) and Afreximbank Academy’s “How to Export with AfCFTA” programme. My work focuses on helping African SMEs move from export readiness to successful intra-African trade through practical guidance grounded in real-world implementation—not theory.Trade Pathways Africa exists to equip African businesses with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to compete beyond their borders.

Trade Pathways Africa does not offer theoretical frameworks. The orientation, diagnosis, methodology, and pathway behind every service and inside this book have been built and tested through an active Nigerian SME advisory engagement — walking a real business through export readiness assessment, documentation preparation, and first transaction sequencing under AfCFTA conditions. What you receive when you work with us or read this book is not a model of how export could work in Africa. It is a record of how it does.
